Where should it go?

מקמו בבית ליד חלון מואר בלי שמש ישירה, רחוק מזכוכית חמה ומזרם המזגן שמייבש את העלים. במרפסת או בגינה בחרו צל מואר ומוגן מרוח, ובחורף העבירו למקום מוגן מקור ומגשם ממושך.

When should I water?

בדקו באצבע את המצע בעומק 2-3 ס"מ, והשקו כשהשכבה הזאת מתחילה להתייבש. השקו עד שיוצאים מים מחורי הניקוז, ורוקנו את התחתית או כלי הנוי. עלים שמוטים עם מצע יבש מעידים על מחסור במים; הצהבה או שמיטה כשהמצע נשאר רטוב עשויות להעיד על עודף מים.

What should I do first?

הסירו את העטיפה ובדקו שיש חורי ניקוז, ואז מקמו ליד חלון מואר בלי שמש ישירה ורחוק מזרם המזגן. געו במצע בעומק של 2-3 ס"מ והשקו כשהשכבה הזו מתחילה להתייבש, בלי לחכות שכל העציץ יתייבש. השאירו בינתיים בעציץ הקיים, כל עוד המים מתנקזים היטב ואין צפיפות שורשים משמעותית.

דשנו כשהצמח מוציא עלים חדשים, לרוב באביב ובקיץ. כשהצמיחה נעצרת, או כשהצמח נבול או מתאקלם בבית, חכו עם הדישון.

תקבלו צמח רב-שנתי ירוק-עד, עם עלים רחבים ומבריקים שצומחים בצפיפות מבסיס הצמח. בזמן הפריחה מופיע עלה לבן שעוטף עמוד פריחה קטן, ובהמשך הוא עשוי להוריק.

What to watch for

אם אתם רואים עלים שמוטים, בדקו את המצע לפני השקיה: יובש יכול להסביר את הצניחה, אבל במצע רטוב כדאי לבדוק ניקוז ולא להוסיף מים. קצוות חומים יכולים להעיד על אוויר יבש או הצטברות מלחים במצע.

Pruning and tidying

גזרו עלים שהצהיבו וגבעולי פריחה שסיימו לפרוח קרוב לבסיס, במספריים נקיים, והשאירו עלים ירוקים. נגבו אבק מהעלים במטלית רכה ולחה.

Propagation

תוכלו להרבות בחלוקת צמח בוגר בזמן העברה לעציץ, רצוי באביב, כך שלכל חלק יהיו שורשים וכמה עלים משלו.

Pot
