Meet Eucalyptus

The leaves can be soft and round or long and narrow. Their shape depends on the species and sometimes on the age of the branch.

Let one branch sweep out on either side of a bunch. Colour and scent vary, so ask for a shop photo if a particular look matters.

When they arrive

Strip lower leaves and recut with sharp secateurs. Keep florist’s foliage and oils out of food and drinks.

Choose a vase

Choose a steady vase for the woody stems. Look for the forks before cutting so each branch still reaches the water.
