Meet Gerberas
A gerbera head is really a cluster of tiny flowers, with petal-like florets around the edge. The broad head sits on a fairly soft stem.
Make the most of your vase
Turn the flower heads in a few directions for a relaxed, sunny arrangement. Ruscus makes a clean backdrop without hiding the blooms.
When they arrive
Start with a very clean vase and fresh water. If a stem folds or softens at the base, check the water, trim it again if possible and take out any decaying material.
Choose a vase
Choose an opening that supports the stems and gives each flower head room. Stagger the heights to keep every face visible.
